The challenges I find in my ministry is that it seems to be someone else’s ministry for me. I have heard: you will be great in this spot, you have a gift, the Holy Spirit led me to you when I was discerning about this. That is how I became a Catechist, ended up doing a two year program at the Pastoral Institute and now Sacristan. All the priests at each turn said something similar. Carolyn God does not always contact you directly; He sends messengers. The DRE who submitted me for the Pastoral Institute said “the Holy Spirit spoke to her about me.” Go figure, I wish the Holy Spirit had spoken to me directly is all I have to say.

Now I like this comment, "Go figure, I wish the Holy Spirit had spoken to me directly is all I have to say." If you the Holy Spirit did tab you on your shoulder would you have responded? Practically, of the prophets in the Old Testament, said, "No!", in the beginning. Read Jonah, Moses, Amos, and others. They were reluctant. I am just saying.
