When all is said and done in going back and forth, you need to find your mountain top. This is where you sit or stand quietly and immerse yourself in God’s wonder; acknowledging your dependence on God because He has the plan and you are the instrument to help execute that plan. My #7 is acknowledging our dependence on God!

When I am in a situation that is difficult to deal with or I don't understand. I ask, Lord, what is the lesson you need me to learn." Sometimes I am stuck in this conundrum for days, weeks, months or even years. Then my question becomes. "Lord is my understanding so little that I have not learnt the lesson yet? Please help my understanding?" Sometimes I am just weary with worry. I sit quietly and the answer comes out of no where. My response in this case is, "thank You God. The answer is so simple yet I have tied myself in knots that only You can undo". This is when I reminded of some of God's promises to me. Jer. 29:11-12; Joel 2:25. One of my other favorite is "When you pass through the water I will be with you; in the river you shall not drown, when you pass through the fire, you shall not be burned". Is. 43:2 Reading Job with this class reminds me that God is Almighty, He is in control, He makes the plans. He is ever faithful. Reading Job made me realize that God does answer your questions. And you are going to get an understanding of who He is to you and who you are to Him. Thank You God that You are mindful of little me!

The challenges I find in my ministry is that it seems to be someone else’s ministry for me. I have heard: you will be great in this spot, you have a gift, the Holy Spirit led me to you when I was discerning about this. That is how I became a Catechist, ended up doing a two year program at the Pastoral Institute and now Sacristan. All the priests at each turn said something similar. Carolyn God does not always contact you directly; He sends messengers. The DRE who submitted me for the Pastoral Institute said “the Holy Spirit spoke to her about me.” Go figure, I wish the Holy Spirit had spoken to me directly is all I have to say.

My best day is when I read a verse in my devotion for the day that reminds me how much I am valued. This sets the tone for my day and how I interact with others.
